Anytime you are faced with something new, whether it be finding a new dentist or seeking legal help, you cannot just take the recommendation from a friend or family member.  You need to do your research yourself so you are able to choose the right service for your needs.  Just as not all dentists offer oral surgery, lawyers do not practice all fields of the law. 

This leaves you with taking time to find the law firm that represents the topic of your case. You can do an online search and read on each law site what each firm practices and also read reviews from past clients.  This can give you a good idea of which law office you want to contact for a face-to-face discussion to discover if you have a case. 

If you live in the Chicago area, you can do a search for the law firm of Corboy and Demetrio and read what is listed for them in the Better Business Bureau.  You will be pleasantly surprised when you see there have not been any customer complaints and because of their extensive background information and length of time being in business, they have a high rating.
